Conflict of interest statement

All the publication process participants (authors, peer-reviewers, editors, members of the editorial board) have to consider whether there was no conflict of interest present in the course of performing their tasks. All the potential conflicts of interest have to be published.

Authors and the Conflict of Interest statement

Each author has to publish any possible financial, personal or other kinds of relationships with organizations, companies or individuals that could potentially influence their work. Potential competing interests include, for example, consulting, receiving payments, grants or any other kind of financing by a third party. The Lekársky obzor journal uses the ICMJE potential conflict of interest form ( - or and click Download) designed to be filled out electronically, attached to the article and submitted together with it to the editorial office. This form has to be filled out by each of the authors individually.

Peer-reviewers and the Conflict of Interest statement

When sending a manuscript for review, the editor should ask the peer-reviewers to express whether there is any kind of conflict of interest present or any kind of bias that could arise during the peer-review of the manuscript. If so, the peer-reviewer should refuse to review. Peer-reviewers must treat manuscripts in confidence and are not allowed to offer manuscripts or information therein to third parties or use them anywhere else. Peer-reviewers are not allowed to spread information or ideas from the reviewed paper or use them for their own purpose.

Editors making final decisions about manuscripts should reject this statement if there is a potential conflict of interest present. Journals should be extremely careful and adhere to manuscript assessment rules available at COPE ( and WAME (
